ARKATRAZ III: A HISTORY

​ARKATRAZ was originally created in 2016 after a fateful meeting of several like-minded survivors on a private server. ARKATRAZ I was then started as a PvP community with rules & standards when it came to war, some of which were regularly broken. We tried a number of other server types & maps till 2018 when ARKATRAZ I was finally set to sleep. It was then that Iggy & Nerf bounced around other private servers looking for a new home, but had no luck. ARKATRAZ II came in early 2019 as a much smaller community, consisting of only one tribe & one active map at a time. It was a fun time but very brief. Even though the survivors there were close knit, something was missing. A larger community to help populate & fund multiple maps & get a true ARK experience.

ARKATRAZ III was officially launched November of 2019 as a PvE community dedicated to exploring, taming, building, & surviving the ARKs without having to worry about PvP taking everything you had worked for. We established rules & guidelines to help foster a community that would be friendly & cooperative, but also let folks survive the ARKs their own way. Admins set clear lines that they were here to help survivors from when they were wronged by the game (getting ARKd), & maintain the community rules. However matters of survivor or tribe politics are largely up to the survivors themselves.

ARKATRAZ III ran for 3 years (!?) & has since rode off into the sunset along with ARK: SURVIVAL EVOLVED. At our peak we offered each & every map available to us as an Xbox cluster, raised thousands of dollars for various charities, & had over 500 members in our Discord. Many events were hosted across all maps, both by our Admins but also other survivors who just had a fun idea. That said, our original plan was to take a short break between ASE & ARK 2 but thanks to changes in Studio Wild Card's plans, we've had to change our plans as well!

With the launch of ARK: SURVIVAL ASCENDED, we'll be bringing back ARKATRAZ III!!! We will do our best to provide each main map, & as many additional maps as we can support as a community. Once ARK 2 has been officially release we'll then, as a community, figure out our transition plan to the brand new game... whenever that is...
